A Farsi Mosque orAl Rowais Mosque is one of the mosques verlooking the Red Sea shore. Designed by Abdulwahid Alwakeel whose buildings were characterized by its responsiveness to the environment and climatic factors. The mosque located in the corniche south of Jeddah Municiality building. It is located on a high hill close to the sea, which gives an opportunity to exploit the sea breeze inside the architectural spaces. It contains three doms located along the qibla wall. The domes are shaped like drums inspired by Mamluk style. The mosque is surmounted by a series of open domes to ensure effective ventilation of the prayer area, which follows the traditional Sudanese Nubian architectural style.
